Terms of Service

By using getScholarSite ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction. The Service is intended for researchers, academics, and students at accredited institutions.

2. Your Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your profile.
• One account per person. Do not create accounts for others without their consent.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Impersonate another researcher or create fraudulent academic profiles.
• Upload malicious content, spam, or content that infringes on others' rights.
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download data from the Service.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create on getScholarSite (profile data, publications, uploaded files). By publishing your profile, you grant us a non-exclusive license to display your content publicly as part of the Service.

5. Imported Data

Publications imported from BibTeX files are provided by you and remain your responsibility. We do not claim ownership of imported publication data.

6. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications at any time. We will notify users of planned downtime when possible.

7. Pricing

getScholarSite is currently free during early access. When paid plans are introduced, existing users will be notified in advance and given the option to continue on a free tier or upgrade.

8. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
• Upon account deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

9. Limitation of Liability

getScholarSite is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be communicated via email.
